We are Maria and Julian Sturdy-Morton. In normal times, we run A Bit of TLC, bringing people together for theatre, concerts, opera and longer excursions in the UK. We like to say that we are probably London's leading virtual club.
We've been leading these outings for almost ten years but, due to COVID-19, we've had to stop; venues have been shut and most of our members are in isolation.
Now, we're giving some more practical TLC during the pandemic, not just for members but for the wider community.
Despite what the media shows, there is no food shortage in this country - the food is just in the wrong place. The food destined for restaurants and venues is stuck with the wholesalers, now our suppliers.
We have set up a network to deliver directly in SW1, SW3, SW4, SW5, SW6, SW7, SW10, SW11, SW12, SW13, SW14, SW15, SW17, SW18, SW19, W4, W6, W8, W11 and W14.
We have three goals
- To help all people (not just the vulnerable) stay at home and away from avoidable trips to the shops
- To make isolation tolerable by delivering good ingredients; basics as well as some treats
- To keep independent wholesalers and food markets alive and active during COVID
TLC during COVID is 100% not for profit and volunteer run, and we thank each and every one of the volunteers that support us daily.
We will cease trading when theatres and restaurants are open again. Like everybody else, we look forward to getting our lives back after the crisis but, in the meantime, we aim to make the best of getting through it.
Keep well, keep safe
